I’m Honored….I think.

I’ve been pacing the floor in dread of this very moment.  I knew it would eventually make it’s way to me when the field of bloggers who haven’t been given the award, narrowed to…well, narrowed a bunch.   The “it” I’m talking about is the Arte y Pico Award passed on to me by Suzanne at Twenty Four At Heart. 

I’ve been suspicious of this award ever since I noticed it making the rounds on other sites I read and I’ve been chewing my fingernails and wishing I hadn’t stopped taking Lexapro in dread of it finally being my turn to accept receive this ugly interesting award.  What to do?  Do I really want to be the bad girl of midlife bloggersville and reject this honorarium?  Uhmm, as a matter of fact, YES I do want to be a bad girl but that’s another post for another time so we’ll move away from that subject and on to the real matter at hand.

Although I’m humbled and acknowlege my heartfelt appreciation to Twenty Four At Heart for nominating me for any this award, I have to follow in the footsteps of my new hero, and decline to carry on the responsibilities that one must pledge to sanction when being in acceptance of the Pico.  Aside from questioning the motives of this honor, I suspect it’s original intent was to garner a certain site a larger number of hits and it’s surely been a success.  My only regret is that I didn’t think of it first.  *wink*  I received my true award today when Mr Hero left a comment about me saying I’m “A little left of center maybe…but definately NOT mentally ill!”  I’m happy somebody thinks so!   He was the first, that I know of, to question the motives of this ugly award and decline to accept and follow the posting rules.  He authors the site A Round World Through Square Glasses and I pray he’s not hanging his hat on the hopes that linking this post to his site will bring him a multitude of new visitors, because I just don’t got the crowd yet, Mister.  After this post that crowd might thin even more, but I hope not.  Please don’t be a hater! 

Although I am honored by Suzanne’s nomination, I’m finding it difficult to type while hanging my head in shame because I too decline the acceptance of this odd award and choose to fall into the footsteps of Mr. Hero and award 5 sites “The Totally Awesome In A 70’s Kind Of Way Blog Award”, of which the rules you can read on this site because I’m too lazy to retype or even copy and paste, apparently.  Also I changed the 80’s to the 70’s which is much more appropriate for me.  Without further prattle, the 5 nominees for the TTAIA7KOWBA are:

Stepping Thru because she’s my sister and if I don’t nominate her she’ll beat me like she use to when I was little and she was much older and bigger than I. Please visit her site so she won’t hate me for what I wrote here. 

A Round World Through Square Glasses because he’s the originator of this award and I believe we might have the same eyewear prescription.

Bear Naked because she likes bears and while I don’t, I think anyone who does must be a great person. 

Duchess Omnium because she surely speaks with a British accent of which I’m jealous, and she loves to camp, and that I’m not jealous of because I don’t love to camp. 

The Boomer Chronicles because any woman who writes about Big Foot sightings surely must have the sense of humor to appreciate this award.   

If I left you out it was only because I went in alphabetical order from my blogroll of sites who hadn’t already received the Pico except for my sister who always has to be included and first when picking the 5 nominees of this prestigious award.  Now do someone else a favor and figure out a way to pass their site on to others that might not run across it any other way. 

Dangit I wish I knew his name so I could stop calling him he, him or his.
