My Christmas Gift List (part VI) is here.

Here we go again, with round seven of my Christmas Gift List. I have to say, I might have bitten off more than I could chew. This is work, people, and I’m running out of ideas. O.k. I’ll stop whining and proceed with the gifts.

Who would ever have thought I’d be trying to figure out what to give my own sister, virtually. Believe it or not, she was the hardest one so far because I know too much about her and there are areas I know better than to touch, even with humor. Also I actually have to be in the same room with her several times a year and she can slap me silly or worse yet…..tell Daddy on me, just like the old days. *wink*

O.k. Stepping Thru, here’s your Christmas present from your favorite sister and even I know that status wasn’t hard to achieve.

bubble-wrap

For you, dear sister, I have this handy dandy suit of armor made of bubble wrap. You’ve had many accidents that resulted in broken limbs, then there were those pesky hip surgeries, so I’ve decided to wrap you up in bubble wrap so I can keep you safe. I hope the popping sounds don’t keep you or my BIL awake when you lay down at night. Merry Christmas, sister dear. I love you to the moon.

Now that I’ve got that one over with, the rest should be easy, right? Wrong. I’ve only had a few easy ones so far. Anyway, it’s time to give Di aka The Blue Ridge Gal her gift.

blueridge2

Di and her family are a family of TADA’ers, but no real TADA’er can TADA effectively without some TADA bling that says “TADA, here’s a true TADA’er!” This is your beautiful diamond and pearl encrusted TADA crown, Ms. Di.  Wear it proudly and never stop TADAing. Happy Holiday’s.

Next on my blogroll is The Southern Mom. Debbie and I have so much in common. She’s a red head, I’m a red head. She loves to quilt. I love to quilt. She’s a Southerner. I’m a Southerner. She likes turducken. I’ve never heard of turducken. So much in common, it’s scary.

nick-saban

Debbie is a sports fan, I think. Anyway she yells “roll tide” a lot and I’m pretty sure that’s something to do with sports and not how she does her laundry. She’s also a self proclaimed “Nick Chick”, therefore, I’m giving Debbie, Coach Nick Saban. I wanted to wrap him in a beautiful quilt but opted for a nice red bow instead. Merry Christmas….Roll Tide!

My next gift goes to Thistles and Maple Leaves. I just call her Thistle even though I know her real name, but since she never uses it online, I won’t either. Ms. Thistle is a proud Canadian and works in the mental health field and raises and shows Smooth Fox Terriers. She says living with 4 SFT’s is like living with 4 children under 4, and I say I wished I’d known that when mine were little and I’d have bought a crate and stuck them in there when they were naughty. Why didn’t someone tell me??

thistles-gift

So, for you Thistle, I’ve got this lovely and super chic new sofa. I’m quite certain those of us who have benefited from your kind and generous counseling have worn your old one completely thread bare. Along with this new couch, is an ear filter. I think you probably hear way too many bad things and deserve to have the bad stuff filtered so from now on, you’ll only hear good things, happy things, wonderful words. Then I had this lovely portrait made of you on your new garden bench while the Scooter Dog had a few friends over. Merry Christmas, friend. I wish you a very kind and happy 2009.

Good gosh, I had diarrhea of the mouth tonight for sure. It’s HBL’s fault because he kept me out shopping too long, nearly got us killed on the slick frozen Texas highway and then forced me to drink too much wine and eat way too much of that yummy honey smoked salmon.

Anyway, come back soon for the next edition of my Christmas Gift List. We’re nearing the end…..finally!

HAPPY TRAILS, Y’ALL

Gracious me, that is a fabulous new couch  Might even be room for me once the dergs have all claimed their spot. And i love the Happy Word Filter, it will help immensely in maintaining my cheery outlook. Thank you so very much!

Just out of curiousity, is there a matching filter for my…uh…verbal incantations? The Scooterdog wants to know as he is greatly troubled whenever i drop the F-Bomb around him…i think he may ask for one for me in his letter to Santa, dear l’il derg that he is. Plan B is to get the neighbours to pitch in on the cost if Santa can’t deliver…Fred Next Door will surely kick in at least 50% ;)

LOL This filter is interchangable. Just turn it around and stick it in your mouth and the dergs and neighbors will not hear the F bomb again. Or maybe you could just shove this in their ears and bomb away. LOL

BTW, I’m pretty sure you have 4 dergs but I searched your site and could only find pictures of three. Did I miss one or are you playing favorites??? *wink*

  2. Di Says:

Kewl crown…. I will put it on display with my other 100 crowns and wear it only while tada’ing. Thank you ever so much my dear… I LOVE IT!

You’re very welcome, my dear. Have fun TADAing.

  3. Jan Says:

The folks who designed that couch…are they expecting the owner’s house to spontaneously flip over?

Funny you should ask. That couch is on a yacht. I want one. The couch, that is…..not the yacht because a yacht would look really weird on our little 5 acre lake. What would the neighbors think??

You truly work harder than Santa’s Elves!! What fabulous gifts you whip up!

Your turn is coming up soon so be prepared!! LOL

  5. Lori Says:

Another great round of gifts and very fitting gifts I must say. I know I have already said this, but you are one creative woman! That salmon and wine sound delicious by the way!

Thanks, Lori. The salmon and wine were great (both from Costco) until about midnight when I decided to go to bed. Then they both reared their ugly heads. Ugh………

  6. steppingthru Says:

    Sniffle……sniffle…..dry the tears……sputter a little bit……
Thank you for caring so much that you’ve wrapped me not only in bubble wrap but also in love. I love you more than you will ever know! (((((((hug)))))))

O.k. but this was supposed to make you laugh. HBL couldn’t stop laughing when he saw the picture. LOL

  7. Slick Says:

    Is Steppingthru really your sister?

Oh, and I still have the best Xmas present ever.

Which reminds me, I left it unattended.

    Later…..

Yes, she’s really my sister. My much OLDER sister.

  8. Smart Mouth Broad Says:

Great gifts! I’m happy to hear you were able to salvage some of the wine after the cow incident! LOL

Wine, crazy cows, irritated husbands who have been drug around shopping all day, and icy roads do not mix. LOL But yes, the wine was fine even though all 6 bottles fell out of the car on to the driveway.

  9. goodfather Says:

I had never heard of turducken until this year either! I have to say, I kind of want to try it out.

Great gifts (again)! I’ve more than my share of wearing out Thistle’s couch. It’s just so dang comfy. :D

You and me both, GF. I wish I’d heard of it sooner and we might have tried it Thanksgiving. Christmas is reserved for shrimp etouffee’.

We’ve all had our time on Thistles couch. If she starts charging us she could quit her other job. LOL

  10. Midlife Slices Says:

Debbie of The Southern Mom got so excited about her gift that she left her comment on List VI post. LOL Just in case any of you wanted to go read it. :)
