It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted anything so today we’re just going to play “catch up” on my always on the go but boring life in the turn lane.

10 days old
As you can see from my last post, there’s a new sheriff in town and he’s all cute and sweet and adorable and definitely rules the roost. He was two weeks old on Monday. In the first 14 days of his life I got the pleasure of keeping him overnight 4 nights. Not consecutive night….no way. I need at least SOME sleep or I don’t function. I finally got back to Texas after two weeks and breathed a huge sigh of relief the second I walked through the front door. I had really missed HBL and think he might have even missed me a little bit. *wink*

View from inside the guest house.
The guest house project is ongoing and finally in the end stages which results in a lot of frustration because we want it DONE and it’s hard getting the plumber and electrician to have the same sense of urgency. Maybe this Thursday? Maybe not. If they’d just come finish up their part we could install the cabinets that are already built, finish the sheetrock over the places where plumbing and electrical are going, finish the tape/bedding and texturing so I can paint, lay the bathroom floor so we can set the toilet and we’re done. Oh wait, I forgot I’ve also got to clean up the 5 old school lights that I dug out of storage, so we can use them and hang a couple of ceiling fans…….oh and put in the bathroom vanity/sink……oh dear, I just THOUGHT we were almost finished. *sigh*

On another note, my allergies are terrible this year. I’ve had a headache so many days I’ve about forgotten what it feels like to not have one. At least I hope that’s what is causing the headaches.

I haven’t fought with my Dad in over two weeks.

Girls weekend is coming up and I’m looking forward to spending time with best friends and my bestest of best friends….my sister, who is looking great! She still lacks some stamina from her two recent surgeries and we’re planning to go to Canton, TX to Trade Days and sift through all the goodies and she’s been worried that she’ll have a hard time with all the walking that will be required. My friend whom I met through this blog aka MissGuided Texas Fan, and I have assured her we’ll take care of her. We’ve offered to pull her in a wagon but she told us she didn’t trust us pulling her up and down all the hills. I told her to trust us, everything would be just fine. We’d get her a helmet and there’s a beer cooler attached to the wagon so she needn’t worry a bit. *Trust us, sister….you’re in (cough) good hands*

My heart is so happy to see the father that my 33 year old son has become. He’s completely and totally in love and devoted to his newborn son. I never thought I’d see this day when he’d finally be a father and it’s changed his perspectives in so many ways. He finally understands the depth of love a parent has for a child. He finally understands how much I’ve loved them (my children) all their lives. It makes me heart sing and I’m so very thankful.

I love this picture!! He'd had enough pictures for one day.
I’m still holding my breath a bit with the mom of my newest grandchild. She’s trying her best but she’s so unstable and unsure of herself as a mom that I worry a lot about them all, especially when I’m 300 miles away and can’t drop everything and go help. My son works long hours but picks up the slack when he gets home so he’s tired all the time too. I’m thankful they were blessed with a good and sweet baby……..so far.

Stubborn, Sassy, and Sullen Teenager love having their very own real live doll to hold, feed, and fix his hair. He’s had some very wild hairdo’s in the past two weeks but he tolerates it all very well…..most of the time.

Stubborn & Sassy "taking care of" Sweet Baby
Well, that’s about it for this update. I have no idea if there’s anyone still out there but just in case there is……I haven’t forgotten you and I promise to check in at your place soon.
