A Foot On The Dash and A Broom In The Eye

Update on the N1H1 and new baby crisis:   All is well *so far* and as of this very second everyone is healthy.  Stubborn can go back to school Monday and Buddha Belly baby is healthy and happy as a little clam.  Thank you all for your comforting words and concern.  Muah!

x

According to Hunka Burnin Love, I freaked out just a tad over the whole ordeal but that’s my job, right?

x

I drove back from Texas to take my turn at keeping Stubborn since he couldn’t go to school all week.  About 10 a.m. today I got two for one.  The school called and Sassy had hurled. *ugh*  They said she’d be sitting in quarantine the window watching for me to pick her up so get here as fast as you can so no one else gets sick.

x

She’s been fine all day.  She’s eaten more than a grown man normally would and it’s still where it’s supposed to be.  Want my theory?  She lost a tooth right before school started and she bled a bit.  I think swallowing blood on an empty stomach *she refused to eat breakfast* made her a little sick.  Pity too, since today was Halloween party day.

x

Now for this disturbing sight.   Yes, that’s me and that’s me driving and yes….that’s my foot up on the dash as I’m driving….and yes, I’m taking my own picture with my foot on the dash as I’m driving.  Can you spot boredom when you see it?

me driving

I apologize for this disturbing sight.

Is it so wrong to make oneself comfortable when the road gets long and dreary?

x

This is what happens when a little boy gets in the way of his sister and her broom.

ty eye

He’s pretty proud of his shiner and especially telling everyone how much trouble Sassy was in for the incident.  *brothers!*

We’re making some progress on the guest house.  I’ve even finished painting….sort of.  I hate one of the colors and will probably repaint and re-faux the entire thing.  What was I thinking???    I was going for that dirty minty green in this photo of the big rug that the entire room is decorated around, but I ended up with something that looks like the turquoise stones in my favorite necklace.

rug

Not exactly the spa like feeling I had in mind but at least it’s only paint….and another 1000 trips up and down that ladder and 2 trips to Lowes and I’ll have it changed, right?  I’d post pictures but I left them on the camera in Texas.  I’ll try to put them online after next week.

x

That’s about it for me.  I’m in a funk…..still.   Halloween is upon us ya know.  What are y’all dressing as for Halloween?  Me?  I’m going as myself which is scary enough.

X

HAPPY TRAILS, Y’ALL

That’s quite the shiner on the eye! Goodness, he’s lucky actually… could have been a lot worse. Love that red carrot top hair!!

Love the rug and can see where the green would be hard to match.. Just go for a soothing tan/faux color and you’ll be safe.

    Happy Halloween!!

    Those freckles … love ‘em.

Good to hear the H1N1 crisis is under control.

  3. queenofphrump Says:

I have been known to drive like that too. Long car rides….. ack!

  4. Pseudo Says:

Happy to hear the little ones are all cleared, spewing and black eyes aside. That is a pretty shiner the boy has.

Can’t wait to see photos of your guest house.

  5. Linda P Says:

I have been known to drive like that too. Kinda scary yea but surprisingly comfortable :)

  6. Bobbie Says:

Long trips gotta get comfortable anyway you can I’ve been known to do that a time or two myself.
That shiner is a good one guess he’ll be a little quicker next time, my little sister gave me one when she was about 4 told her to put down the phone, remember the old one that weighed about 10 lbs??, she did right on my face I was laying down on the floor watching t.v. Never tell your sister what to do when they are standing over you!
Glad the babies are doing fine and remember when it come to painting a room ITS ONLY PAINT!

  7. Lori Says:

Glad everyone is getting healthy once again. Sounds like you are still busy as ever. Look forward to seeing the finish guest house. Hope your funk leaves soon. Happy halloween to you and yours. My little peeps wanted me to dress up and kinda wanted to but ran out of time. I wanted to be a vampiress since I love vampires….lol. Oh well maybe next year. Will have to go as myself and that is scarey enough!

  8. Janie Says:

    Another freaky coinky-dink?

    I drive that way too.

  9. Ken Says:

Now you know its not legal to drive in bare feet (right) For shame on you. I hope the kids get all better soon. Missed you its been awhile and I hope to explain why I disapear every so often, but not just yet ok?

    Oooh, scary driver!
Glad to hear that most everyone is avoiding the H1N1…hope Sassy is still well.
Good luck finding the color you want and climbing up and down and up and down and up and down on the ladder repainting….

  11. Smart Mouth Broad Says:

So glad Stubborn is back up and around. Sorry bout Sassy and the paint but WOW, nice pedi! And might I say, you are quite talented. I bet you were even texting while you were doing all that too. *wink*

    MUAH!

  12. Beverly Says:

I have driven exactly like that myself…

  13. Jan Says:

At least you can take pictures of your feet – I would be ashamed to show mine, I am in need of a pedicure THAT badly.

I’m so glad Stubborn is recovering and that the baby is still well. Beloved had a nasty cold over the weekend (you know men – he spent Saturday making me wonder if I shouldn’t just call an undertaker and get it over with) and we were on pins and needles with the Little Guy coming to visit this week.

Oh, hush with the “scary” talk – that I should be as “scary” as you. Muah!

  14. Nothing Fancy Says:

Glad everyone is on the mend!

I can’t wait to see pictures of the guest house. For the record…I have that green you’re looking for on the walls in our guest room. Why didn’t you call me? ;)

  15. steppingthru Says:

Good Grief! I can’t even get my foot up on the dash board. My legs are too short, I guess.
That’s probably not the last shiner Stubborn will have. That boy’s got em coming, I’m afraid. I have one just like him.
Sorry the paint didn’t turn out like you planned. Maybe you should forget the faux and go with just the soothing blue/green. Sorry you have to do it again but look at it as extra exercise.

  16. delaney55 Says:

Hey, I sit like that with both feet propped up on the dash or out the window when I ride shotgun for a long drive so I see nothing wrong with it except the taking the pic while driving. Shame, shame! (though I do like the pic :) )

  17. tera Says:

So glad everyone is feeling better!
I, too, put my foot on the dash, however, not usually when I’m driving, because I have to clutch. Ha! That’s awesome, though!
Anxiously awaiting pix of your finished project.
(And more pictures of grandkids!) ;)

  18. Twenty Four At Heart Says:

Is everyone healthy? I hope so!
